He could do a job there, but I think he’s best as an 8/box to box.
His tackling is pretty good and he likes to come deep to set-up play, but his main weakness at the moment is lapses in concentration defensively with getting back and tracking his man. Ideally he has a DM behind him helping to mop up anything that gets passed him, so that Mainoo has free reign to seek out the ball, create play and maybe even score a goal as per yesterday.
A future England midfield of Rice as the 6, Mainoo as the 8, and Bellingham as the 10 would have everything.
