I’d have thought he’d be the most obvious choice for a temporary manager if/when ten Hag’s position becomes untenable. That might have been one of the main reasons they brought him in to begin with.
I also wonder if RvN might have been sabotaging ten Hag behind his back so EtH would get the boot and he can takeover in the main role. Often when he pops up on camera he looks like he could be scheming something like that.
