Canada thrashed Honduras yesterday 6-0 in Group B play at Vancouver’s BC Place (which is a World Cup 2026 venue). Jesse Marsch wasn’t on the bench and won’t be for the next game due to suspension. Alphonso Davies has an ACL injury and Stephen Estaquio is featuring for Porto at the Club World Cup and isn’t availble yet.
Group A: Mexico (ranked No. 17 in the world), Costa Rica (54), Suriname (137), Dominican Republic (139).
Group B: Canada (30), Honduras (75), El Salvador (81), Curacao (90).
Group C: Panama (33), Jamaica (63), Guatemala (106), Guadeloupe
Group D: United States (16), Saudi Arabia (58), Haiti (83), Trinidad and Tobago (100).
I realize this is hardly the Euros or COPA America, but this is our last big tournament before the World Cup and anything but a top 2 finish for this squad would be considered a disappointment.
