I honestly think part of the problem with the English is the pessimistic support. āFootballās coming home, but theyāre shitā has been a common theme amongst my English mates for the thirty odd years Iāve known them.
Southgateās tactics might not be the most popular when you take into account the high pressing style of the most successful sides in world football today, but theyāve been pretty effective. Heās gotten you further along in tournaments than youāve been in decades.
Math was never my subject of excellence. English, history and phys-ed were. Iām an arts and sports guy who canāt count.
