Do you honestly believe this mate? Ronaldo was deep into talks with Citeh less than 24 hours before he chose to return to United. Any kind of loyalty / allegiance you think Ronaldo has to United is surely demonstrated by the fact he was prepared to play for Citeh before he was prepared to rejoin United.
When Citeh, yes even Man fucking Citeh baulk at the wage demands of a player who, I think we are all agreed, is well past his best, a player who turns 37 in February - you would expect the rest of the clubs in the league / the world to take note. We only have to look at the mess Messi and his wages have left Barcelona in as a recent example of how ridiculous and out of hand things have got.
But up step United, offering £480k a week for a player who less than 24 hours earlier was about to put pen to paper to join their closest rivals. This blows every wage in Premier League history out of the water - even the last time United tried this with Alexis Sanchez (and we all know how that turned out).
Say what you want about Fergie, but he put the club and team above everything. Any player he felt was getting too big / thought they were getting too big for the club, he got rid of. He did this to some of the best players in the world during their peak years too.
I would genuinely love to know how he feels about this - I doubt heās crowing about it like it is some kind of victory. If anything, itās a fucking embarrassment.
Having said that, he ensured he, as manager, would always be higher paid than any player at the club so if he were in charge today, heād probably be all for it
