I watched some of the ‘new & improved ESL’ presentation today.
Talk about lipstick on a pig.
“Hey look, we’ve got promotion and relegation this time so it’s fair.”
“AND you can watch it for FREE.”
What’s not to like?
I’m not seeing anything about the quality of the competition , which is the very essence of why most people watch sport.
This is money driven, not competition driven.
In my head that’s the disconnect that will make people lose interest - see golf right now.
Levelling the playing fields to increase the competition seems a better option than feeding the pigs 🐽
