Atiba Hutchinson is probably one of the most underrated players on the Canadian squad. He’s been the captain of Bestikas in Turkey since 2013. He’s also going to probably be the oldest player to play at the 2022 World Cup at 39. Cool as a cucumber, doesn’t look out of sorts even at his age and we really miss his presence when he hasn’t played due to his holding midfielder role.
He’s been a part of the Canadian national team since he was 18. Up until now, he had never even reached the final rounds of World Cup qualifying, let alone actually going to the World Cup.
I couldn’t be happier for him to be going to Qatar considering all of the heartbreak he’s gone through previously and graft he’s put in for his country.
