You won’t see many Chinese buying clubs nowadays, for 2 reasons: 1. The government is actively ‘dissuading’ billionaires from doing stuff like this as they’d rather they keep their taxable billions onshore, and 2. Actually, some Chinese businessmen are shitting it at the possibility of expropriation, as they saw happen to Abramovich, should sanctions against China ramp up in any way. Of course, expropriation is totally (more) possible here, but they may fancy their chances of holding onto assets more in their own country, with their own connections.
So the days of them snapping up big clubs is over, unless you’re talking about a non-PRC Chinese (such as a Malaysian of ethnic Chinese origin or someone).
