Last night was particularly souless though. The shitty new stadiums drain the atmosphere too adding to the tedium.

If you look at the England Euro 2012 squad now, it’s a who’s who of absolute shite: Hodgson, Robert Green, Martin Kelly, Phil Jones, Joleon Lescott, Stewart Downing, Danny Welbeck… can’t believe (at the time, I remember it well) people were overly optimistic that we might actually do something at that tournament (as they always are, to be crushed by reality).
