PR/ commercial wise - no one has heard anything from Greenwood during the process. The public until now didnât get to hear his side. Supposedly he and the girl are also now back together anyway.
Thereâll be public statements from Greenwood, maybe even a separate one from the girl, maybe even a joint statement from them, maybe even a curated interview - very apologetic, saying theyâre not wishing to make light from the issue, things were taken out of context etc. They may even announce their engagement.
This will then soften some public sentiment which until now has only seen the carefully selected leaks.
Heâll be kept out of the limelight until the end of the season while chatter dies down, then brought back for the next pre-season.
Heâll probably not get any major sponsorship deals in future though, eg front cover of FIFA games, and England may remain reluctant to call him up.
Albeit, such things never held back CR7 from his later advertising/commercial earnings.
