vinnyt77 no I don’t - they’ll take the highest bid… but I’d think they’ll try and get all bidders to increase their offer.. all the above will be initial offers imo
Jules72 Not predicting the outcome, likely a whole load of smoke being blown around.
Just hoping for the best
Just listening to some of the internet experts have their say on the Qatari interest… https://twitter.com/i/spaces/1jMJgLZmXvqxL
He’s right but unfortunately it comes from Uber cunt Simon Jordans garbage gob so for that no thumbs up.
Cankles-McJeggings yeah I agree with Jordan here as well (reluctantly). G Nev will say a few things such as ’it’s less than ideal’ then keep his head down and continue to support….not that it’s a problem to be honest, I’m a bit on the fence with the idea of having to just stop supporting something you’ve loved all your life because of a change in ownership or governance.
Fucking lols at football social media all round.
Saudis and Qataris all fine now since they want to buy Man U
Or (even better)
Oh now it’s Man U, people are kicking off. They were fine with Newcastle.
How fucking dumb are some people?
It’s worrying news all round either way, the Glazers have done a fine job of overseeing mediocrity these last few years, long may it continue
Strange how no leaks of bids other than INEOS and Qatar…. Probably not that competitive in that case? Or have the additional bids just not been leaked?
Jules72 I suspect other potential buyers were waiting to see what the starting bids were before deciding whether to make one themselves. Can’t imagine those money grabbing cretins that are the Glazers turning away a higher bid a month down the line.
Qatar can’t own more than one team in the Champions league so how’s that going to work when PSG and United both qualify
alistair apparently it’s a non state bidder… though if strong links are found between the sheikh and the state, got to be a good chance it will be punished eventually?

RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig managed to find a way to both be allowed to compete in the Champion’s League according to UEFA, so I’m sure whoever’s involved in Qatar will find some fudge which UEFA would also agree to.

ScottBailey it’s possible the entire process will be anonymous and that Qatar and INEOS are the only ones that have publicly declared their interest… but then isn’t it in the interests of the Glazers to leak out all the bidders?
hugopal fair enough… still don’t want Qatar though given their PSG cock up
Jules72 how has PSG been a “cock up”? They’ve still won 4 of the last 5 Ligue 1 titles and look set to win it again. Plus they reached the CL final two season ago.
They’re hamstrung by the fact they play in a crap league, and by winning the CL being so incredibly difficult and unpredictable.
hugopal you may not think PSG is a circus but most do… buying the world’s most famous players in the interests of commercialism as opposed to building a coherent team… player politics (Mbappe)…. Chopping managers constantly… and no, spending that amount of money and not winning a champs league is a crap return - winning the Ligue doesn’t count
Chelsea beaten by a Saints that have literally been in turmoil. Going down like Lehman Bros 😂
Worst possible set of results for Leeds.
SM001 Worst possible set of results for Leeds.
Terrible isn’t it
SM001 yup. we are doomed. drifting - cut loose by a management team convinced of its own genius , now panicking and terrified of ‘making the wrong move’. the current state of the team is frozen watchfulness. it could change but needs a man with a plan and that looks miles off now. tbf i wd take Rafa for all his foibles because he will not leave the team under any illusions as to who is and is not good enough and who is in charge. burnley nearly did it from a worse position last season but it needs a spark and the conditions are errr damp. in this league you need to be rich or super smart - our directors are neither - it’s the stupidity that bites you in the end.
It took a long time but it turns out the ‘raise hopes and dash them mercilessly’ rollercoaster of supporting Newcastle actually surivived the takeover.
Wally You’re not bad though.
