Apart from the injuries? Feck sake, hursty. Two first choice CBs out for the season and two of the first choice 3 in midfield either played out of position all season or also injured. That’s 4 first choice players of the 10 outfield positions gone for an entire season. Add to the fact the drop off in quality between first 11 and squad is frightening for a club who won the CL and PL in consecutive years. Not sure if it’s the club or klopp but the reds squad, after first 11, is shite. Haven’t bought anywhere near the right level of quality.
Heysel
Lol, I was talking about internal team issues, a falling out of some sort. There is always a reason why teams stop performing especially in such dramatic circumstances.
Hursty players seem knackered to maintain the intensity which is what has been the driver of the success. Plus without a crowd to get them going or leaders like VVD and Henderson they are just in second gear, and that isn’t the style for us to win. if there is one criticism of klopp is that he hasn’t built a squad for his style of football and relied on his first 11, which clearly worked wonders for a few seasons. Players needed more resting to maintain the style of football and the squad needed more game time to be able to play the style at the level required.
They’re all bored of the absolute clown that is Jurgen Klopp.
Smallman1 Lol, I’d take a clown who delivers the CL and PL in back to back seasons any day.
Hursty I am resigned to us not getting top four and I don’t want Europa league either. As long as he delivers a top four finish next year, Klopp’s alright with me
alistair The owners won’t though unfortunately.
Hursty how do you know? There has to be an appreciation that he has brought them all the big trophies in the past two years (and on a relatively small net spend)and there are extenuating circumstances such as a freakish injury list. You remove Henderson and VVD from the team and there are no leaders plus all the rest of it.
alistair I don’t know, just speculating due to the amount of money involved at the top level and the actions of many club owners when teams start losing lots of games.
-si- That’s 4 first choice players of the 10 outfield positions gone for an entire season.
Dry them.
-si- We shouldn’t be losing this many games consecutively though? I’m just trying to make sense of it all as it’s pretty mental. Klopp is renowned for getting more out of sub standard players but we are being beaten week in week out.
Are you saying you would keep Klopp if we lost every game remaining in the PL?
Hursty Are you saying you would keep Klopp if we lost every game remaining in the PL?
Absolutely, mate. Judge them next season with a first 11 back again.
Klopp’s clearly a great manager and Smallman’s the clown.
However, it did all fall apart for him in a similarly dramatic way his last season at Dortmund. Players tire of his intensity, I don’t know.
bosstrabs If he recovers and survives this disaster I will be amazed given the era of top flight football we live in where no one is given time.
Hursty If he recovers and survives this disaster
I always bounce back Hursty!
Smallman1 Haha, you are effervescent Ed!
Glad my iPhone can spell effervescent for me 😂
Hursty It’s not the phone, it’s the operating system.
Hugo.
-si- Fair one, for me, as much as Klopp is a Liverpool legend that is part of the history forever, not sure I would stomach continual losses without any sign of improvement.
