I think that’s so there are fewer international breaks/meetings isn’t it?

They’re cramming (for some countries) 3 games into each break.

bosstrabs can’t remember which England game it was in 2016 but I let out an involuntary YESSSSSSS! that was heard throughout the hotel…. cue a lot of laughter from the Brazilians. Can’t recommend going on holiday during the euros or WC highly enough.

I was also in Brazil in 2002 during the Japan/Korea World Cup…. and we were playing Brazil.. was watching it with two Brazilian and Irish friends in a bar in Rio… people kept chucking salt at me the entire first half… Irish mate got hassled on the way to the toilet despite his insistence he wasn’t English … then Michael Owens scored and I turned around and gave a massive YESSS!!! And fist obviously. My Brazilian friend tapped me on the shoulder and said time to go… a girl came crying to us apologising as we left the abuse was so bad. Ended up in the local Irish pub… and got majorly abused there too… fun times!

Brazilians are not the funsters we all think they are when it comes to football - they take it very very seriously

Brazilians are fucking idiots when it comes to football.

I’m in a chat group for my regular boozer in Beijing (interestingly where Mark Clattenburg drinks) and there is some Brazilian wanker in there, who when Brazil went out of the World Cup, he posted a selfie of him wearing his shirt and crying, presumably amongst South Americans this is a display of your passionate patriotism, but the Brits and Aussies (and Belgians) in the group just absolutely slaughtered him for being a div and a sore loser.

Smallman1 always wanted to go there myself but it’s a long distance from Rio… Heard so much about Florianopolis though - might have to bite the bullet at some point… anyway the way things are going in Brazil I’ll be a pensioner by the time it’s possible to go there again

Along_the_Wire you reckon Grant? I went a few years ago and it was the most underwhelming place I’ve been to in the country… perhaps it’s changed - can well imagine that as Brazilians used to rave about it 15-20 years ago
