Kumquat Think I got this from the secret footballer book but when Leeds were high fliers all those years ago there was a defender (forget who) who was coming to the end of his career and wanted less money for more footy.
He was in talks with Leeds and wanted 20K a week which apparently his agent made no secret of when talking to clubs. He walks into the meeting with Risdale and Risdale bullishly goes ‘we want you but the most you’re getting is 40K a week’
The defender goes ‘What?!’ out of shock surprise and Risdale, completely fucking it up goes ‘OK dammit. 80K but that’s the final offer and you have to sign now’
