Wally This is a mixture of a few myths. It was Seth Johnson who was a midfielder aged about 19 who played for Derby and was regarded as promising. The myth is that he and his agent went to negotiate with Ridsdale and PR asked what sort of wages he was expecting and he said £10K p/w but Ridsdale said that’s where near enough and offers him £17K. They all deny that story now ……I mean PR was an idiot squared so it may have an element of truth to it
