All I know is I’m from the North of England and lived here about 27 years of my life and I have never been to Chesterfield and I never meet anyone from there.
You could list loads of small northern English towns and I will have been there or met someone from there: Leigh, Wakefield, Wigan, St. Helens, Brighouse, Dewsbury, Southport, Birkenhead, Harrogate, Durham… but not Chesterfield.
I’ve never even seen motorway signs pointing to it.
