Back on topic, it feels like this latest wave of EDM and maybe even what weāve witnessed over the last 15-20 years with EDM is more manufactured for the sole purpose of profit rather than something that evolved naturally. Its why I feel so cynical about it anyway. When I think of something that evolved naturally with the scene I think of club sets transitioning to festival sets, or 15 minute Epic House tracks becoming 8 or 9 minute trancers with no breakdowns.
If weāre saying EDM is ājust a natural progression of the sceneā then can someone tell me what Steve Aoki throwing a cake into someoneās face naturally spawned out of?
By all means live and let live but what weāre witnessing is not natural imho, its more an infiltration by agencies or people with clout who spotted an easy way to make money.
