Agree with what Damo said about the mystique of what DJs actually did. In the case of S&D, they had the trifecta of ability, creating their own sound, and having tunes that were ridiculously ahead of everyone else.
The latter contributed massively to their overall lore. Sasha himself has spoken a lot about how the days of getting acetates put him ahead of the pack, and how the emergence of digital eroded a lot of that.
