Along_the_Wire I’m sorry but that isn’t true. We are living in an age of information abundance and everyone has access. There is so much free training online you can even ask AI to design you a course in your desired vocation.

It’s not the silver bullet but it’s a start and it’s freely available

There is a great one which goes into the specifics about apps like Replit which essentially develops an app from the ground up, all that’s needed is the human element to input their desired business idea, truly amazing

AI “slop” and digital clutter is already becoming more prevalent.

Garbage in Garbage out. LLM output is only as good as the prompt given. Talk of job armageddon is overstated imo. Yes jobs will go, but many of them are low paid low skilled jobs which no one enjoys doing anyway.

Along_the_Wire I was working with a group of young people this morning who originally came from humble backgrounds in Asia, all of them had a positive, growth mindset looking to better themselves and take advantage of the wealth of information at our fingertips.

They are all going to be successful in life because of the steps being taken to adapt, learn and move forward with a heavy pinch of self determination.

Is that mindset being fostered by the majority of young people at home/school in the UK today?

There’s a significant subset where that isn’t the case. I’m not suggesting it’s right, it’s just what’s happening.

I’m doing technical (mostly construction, screws, tools, construction chemicals) wholesale face to face, this business has been surprisingly resistant to even people buying stuff online, my company has an online store, but it’s been an actual struggle to get any of our clients to use it, they prefer face to face. When that changes I guess I’m fucked too, but until then I guess I’m good.
