Now that this thread has petered out already, one thing I will add is - what respectable middle-class English family wears their shoes indoors?!
Not only that, but clearly it’s meant to be Christmas morning… “Wake up everyone, and make sure to get fully dressed and put on your winter boots before sitting under the Christmas tree to unwrap your presents…”
Not grounded in reality whatsoever. Really kills the suspension of disbelief.
