Mad_Cyril Anyone use any they can recommend? Old AirPods have packed n so need something portable for commute and work. Sound quality s priority, followed by easy switching between phone and MacBook for calls
Along_the_Wire Mad_Cyril I got some expensive Sony buds, but they weren’t all that and bought AirPods instead - the difference is really quite big - noise cancelling especially
gcw I’d be keen to hear suggestions also. I have some JLab Ear Buds and whilst they are comfortable the volume levels are really poor.
Dubman Been using some sondcore liberty 4 nc for the last few years. I really rate them on sound once you’ve dialled them in. There’s loads of presets and has a full graphics equaliser. Switching between music and phone is very easy plus the battery seems to last for ages. Plus it comes with wireless charging. There’s also a newer version so they may sound better
Wasily alistair stick to the Airpods, latest gen are better than ever If you’re in the apple ecosystem then Airpods/ Airpod pros are a no brainer. Can recommend the Sony WF-1000XM5 if you’re Android- they’re better than the Sennheiser Momentum 4’s.
Amps Was recently looking for in ear, with a sports hook, wireless, with noise cancelling. Hard to find ones by a reputable company that weren’t mad money.
Tribal_Goose For electronic music, these are definitely my go-to option. Great bass. Don’t do apple. https://www.whathifi.com/reviews/technics-eah-az100
RichM I got a cheap pair of Sony WF-C700N earlier on this year as gave my AirPods to someone for a while. But carried on using the Sony ones and didn’t bother to take the AirPods back. These aren’t bad for the cheap price
bosstrabs Bose QuietComfort are my favourite for blocking external noise and comfort, and in that regard they LIVE UP TO THEIR NAME.
Dry-Tinder bosstrabs They are what I use. They come with a 2 year warranty. They are shite for running or in bad weather. I’ve had loads replaced under warranty, so just use them when not running. I use Galaxy Buds 2 pro for running and have had no problems. The sound isn’t as good as the Bose ones, but they are a good compromise. Them open ear phones are horrible, I sent my pair straight back.
LT42 There’s been a huge shift away from all the flashy bluetooth “pods” over the last 12 months for safety reasons. Not sure I need my brain fried any more than it already is. A good friend is high up in Siemens and he’s been telling us for years not to go near them. To be honest I don’t use them anyway but was wondering how others felt about the switch back to cable headphones?
Amps LT42 Currently using wired sports ones. Not a problem for the most part. LT42 he’s been telling us for years not to go near them Might stick with them now!

A good friend is high up in Siemens and he’s been telling us for years not to go near them. At the risk of ‘weeds’ I’m interested to hear what your friend’s reason is for not going near them. I’ve seen quite a lot of cables around but assumed they’re more of a retro statement thing as opposed to any genuine health concern.
ScottBailey LT42 would this not pose the question “why not ditch your mobile phone too” for the same reasons? Surely nothing in bluetooth headphones that you aren’t already sticking to your ear with your phone.
LT42 Wasily I’m sure his gripe is about long term usage and maybe some stuff he’s heard himself in-house. People working from home and having them in their ears all day, or using them everywhere they go, can’t be good. Phones are actually worse, pretty sure thats the case.
LT42 ScottBailey People know cigarettes are bad but they still smoke em anyway, Scott. What do want from me?
