I would say learn a trade. But your age is probably against you. I can’t see Ai doing hardly any jobs working on a building site or domestic properties. I know I could earn more money doing my old job as there’s definitely a shortage highly skilled decorators.

Hursty Less impacted than some jobs, but will still be impacted. AI is already automating a lot of the tasks associated with cyber security, and I suspect that will accelerate.

Take a look at the most in demand jobs around the world, you can emigrate anywhere, generally through an expedited process if you are cyber trained

I had a near miss the other day when claude refactored a load of stuff but left off all the object level validation for a load of django views. I paid back a heap of tech debt, and very nearly left everything wide open.

Problem is. It’s a young man’s game. It takes at least 5 years to be completely confident & competent in any trade. Especially to go out on your own.

Dubman totally agree. Less about it being a young man’s game but it takes a good few years to get up to a place where you’re 100% at being self emp.

I didn’t go fully self employed until I was 40. But subbed in on site, big ones especially is easy money
