I mean, really, it was ridiculous. Outrageous even.

Pretty sure I was at Gurnmills, probably August/September 1999, can’t remember exactly who played it, probably Seaman or someone like that but it shook the place. Absolutely SHOOK the place. Rarely seen dancefloor reactions like it.

I do remember hearing it when it came out because I’d bought Pappa’s nubreed. I didn’t think particularly highly of it.

The below was the stand-out track for me on that disc. Great blend of techno percussion and deep melodies. I even steam-rollered my friend in to letting me play it in the middle of an otherwise pop/dance DJ set we did for a class-mate’s 14th birthday party at a hall they’d rented out. The kids were fairly non-plussed, unsurprisingly to me at the time, but I managed to not clear the dancefloor with it at least. I still love this track.

@bosstrabs that Odessi track was indeed massive and you’re right, the reaction was huge. I first heard it late 1999 at a Bedrock in London, can’t remember from who though…it wasn’t Digweed. I’m thinking DJ Remy? Anyway, didn’t know what it was so was a pleasant surprise when a couple of months later it popped up on Pappa’s NuBreed.

Definitely some gems on that Nubreed. Don’t remember where I heard Odessi. Think the Two Right Wrongans track was the most memorable for me. Remember getting the vinyl for it.
