Haha
Anyone catch Billy Nomates? She’s great
Whenever I see a recommendation from Alistair I picture a small European café that has been the subject of an abominable terrorist firebomb attack. People of all generations are maimed and engulfed in flames, the lucky ones frantically colliding with terrace furniture in a desperate attempt to escape the carnage.
Its those lucky ones that i imagine not clicking on the links.
seanc80 🤣
seanc80
😂
seanc80 lol. I recommended QOTSA, War on Drugs, Phoenix and Alison Goldfrapp besides Rick Astley and the Blossoms. If they’re all shit, please do tell me what I was missing 👍
I can’t see Alistair coming back from this one.
Dan Good to see you’re still with us Dan, was worried you’d done a ‘Michael Hutchence’ during the climax of Rocket Man
A lol for Sean there
Cankles-McJeggings Lolz I’ve just had the displeasure of seeing blondie 😱 Why oh why are they doing this to themselves? Why oh why has glasto turned into a geriatric pop star of the past freak show? Pitiful.
Because most contemporary pop+rock music is shite and they’re desperate for female headliners.
hugopal
She looked and sounded like a decent shit would finish her.
Mad_Cyril I’m still standing…
Gave Elton a massive swerve because of the crowd and tbh I wasn’t that interested, QOTSA were absolutely outstanding
nicksneddon watched QOTSA back on iplayer. They were superb. Seen them three times over the years and they never disappoint. Glad you got to enjoy them after falling ill
alistair
Paranoid London, Young Fathers, Job Jobse, DJ Yoda, Max Cooper, Hessle Audio Takeover, Jasper Tygner & Saoirse were the ones that floated my submersible this year. It was brutal in the heat though.
Did hear Job Jobse was good.
Smallman1 Did he play 2 hours of happy hardcore rave classics from 1993?
thursday was especially hot, far better than the mud though. just watching Lizzo again on Iplayer, shes absolutely brilliiant, really bought the party
nicksneddon Any highlights from the electronic stuff Nick?
Sounded like he did a, ahem, good Job.
I do wonder if we’ve reached peak “glasto”. Some of the BBC coverage is on par with that slag Sue Wimbowland. Tennis/ Strawberries and cream yes sir! Royal birth? Don’t mind if I do! Etc
Yeah we all know it’s not about the headliners/pop music, yet I can’t help but think some of these acts may be attracting a more mainstream middle class crowd which may shift the demographics and tilt the vibe towards blandness.
mono-stereo part of the reason I dislike it so much I think, the general wankathon every year from the BBC. It feels like a bit of a popularity contest nowadays.
mono-stereo er, massively. It’s a steaming pile of dung now.
LT42 Did he play 2 hours of happy hardcore rave classics from 1993?
Not sure LT, wasn’t there sir!
