delged Very sad news. Did he special guest at one of the Bedrock’s at Cable underneath London Bridge station? Pretty sure I saw him at Heaven. 52 is no age.
Old-Dutch Remember seeing him play at Twisted Melon in Old Burlington St. - must have been over 20 years ago now. Finished on the RITM mix of Fool’s Gold.
benson Old-Dutch I was there. It was 2003 I think. Or was that chloe Harris? Think it was the first TM I went to
smashdad Old-Dutch Twisted Melon Deeper Substance Coded Junktion Audio Deluxe Public Life Tatty Bogle Wire … and others Halcyon days of wonderful DJs, amazing music and incredible promoters who were happy to showcase both.
Old-Dutch Yeah Chloe Harris was on before him. He played Ethan in My Heart that night too so was 2003 / 2004
Wally Bloody hell. Gutted. Was always a good laugh whenever we had a chat. Put him on at a night in Newcastle once. RIP Jon. 🙁
stelladry I only met Jonathan once, in 2004, pre Sasha at Fabric. What an engaging intelligent chap. The world is a worse place without him. Rest in peace.
smashdad benson The promoters that truly made it to be fair - they never get enough credit… Steve Allen Pat Goodall Neil Stuckey Rob Duffy Andy Newland Paul Louth Martin McNeil Hadfield Demi … with apologies to those I can’t immediately recall.
Greggy Very sad to hear this. Met Jon a few times in the early 2000s and he was always so passionate about the tunes. Thank you @smashdad for the link to his mixes. RIP JL
rhouses Thought I’d listen to some of his production, the stuff some from post 2005 is great. Berghain Blues is a beast. But really need to deep dive his mixes soon, thanks for that link with his discog @smashdad.
smashdad Jon Lisle’s funeral was last week - Digweed has asked permission from JL’s family to pay his own tribute to him in the near future - hopefully it’s granted and goes ahead soon - either way Digweed has displayed more class than it’s reasonable to expect - fullest of massive respect to JD.
smashdad smashdad If anyone more savvy than me can get round MixClouds prevention of audio recording I’d love to ‘clip-up’ Digweed’s words in his introduction to share to various folks… TIA if you can.
