He didn’t say he is too good for the game. He responded to a question about why he thinks him, Williams and Higgins are still at the top 25 years on.

A lot of other things he says do annoy though. He hasn’t threatened retirement for a while has he, that was an annual claim a few years back.

Hope not but you’re probably right. He’ll bore his opponents to death. The most ill fitting nickname for a snooker player. Jester from Leicester wtf!

    C_J

Saw Hendry at an exhibition 4 years ago, along with Jimmy White, Dennis Taylor, John Virgo and Steve Davis. Couldn’t have made it more clear that he didn’t want to be there ( Hendry that is). Turned up looking like a hobo as well. Never meet your heroes!

gcw I’m not talking about this interview, I’m talking about the last 20-odd years

C_J Hendry used to practice at the snooker club where I lived in Broxburn when he was a kid. It used to annoy my dad, as he got booted off a table now and again when he came in and it was full.

alistair Same, I like him. One of my favourite bets ever was backing him in the final when he was dead at buried at 9/1 - he’d just started showing some form.

      gcw Never meet your heroes!

I’m sitting here hoping you’re using that phrase for the situation.

Not that your hero was Stephen Hendry

Massive snooker fan Cyril and Hendry is my all time favourite player. Hero is a stretch admittedly, but was hoping for him to at least show some interest in potting a few balls for the crowd.

Love him as a commentator. If it’s a crap shot, he calls it. And you know that when he’s explaining shots etc that nobody knows more than he does.

Looks like Wilson is going to beat world number one Trump. So much for Ronnie’s assertion that there were no emerging players

@gcw Aye he is a bit of a miserable sod to be fair.

He’s no Papa Sven CeeJay, that’s for sure

Love Ronnie, the only player I get excited about watching for years. An absolute genius and captivating to watch. Not looking forward to a post Ronnie era at all.

He’s got a tough test against Williams but he’s looking sharp this year. Will be very interesting. Selby is on form again this year.

Williams ROS has the makings of a classic now. Both playing fast and well

So many misses, playing like amateurs in this 18th frame

Is it just me or does Williams look like Roger Mellie.

Hursty He will have to up his game to beat Selby. Ronnie missed several routine shots late on.
