More like Oucho when the bill comes.

That one’s for Dave!

Jules72 Richmond is lovely when the sun is out. Were all the seats white leather?

The seats at the Goucho I went to were cowhide.

Very elegant I thought.

Smallman1 must all be different. Only one I went to near Spitalfields market was faded white leather.

I’m with JYW, steak is difficult to fuck. Congratulations to all these incredible restaurants who’ve located an excellent supplier.

alistair cowhide…. The cheese breads are seriously addictive … and the wine menu pretty decent… 250 quid for me, a friend and 2 kids 🤦‍♂️

RichM has hawksmoor changed their menu in 5 years? I just think it’s a bit stale….

Personally like Roxies in SW London… great rib eye and bbq ribs

Along_the_Wire New York restaurants try too hard

Same could be said for London. We have our fair share of poncy restaurants in San Francisco but I swear only tourists go to them.

RichM No mention of a Berni Inn?

A great steak is all about preparation, timing and seasoning, not to mention the quality of the cut

            Alistair blowing minds over here.

jonattonyeah Never quite understood the fuss around steakhouses. It’s not like steak is difficult to cook at home. If I’m going to drop a ton of money on a restaurant meal it’s going to be for something either too difficult or too fussy to make on my own.

              You’re wrong.

And what’s more, you’re a grotesquely ugly freak.

alistair A great steak is all about preparation, timing and seasoning, not to mention the quality of the cut

You can tell from Alistair’s jokes that he has no timing, so his home cooking is presumably the same.

jonattonyeah Same could be said for London.

I disagree - there are a few like that, but not many. In NYC there are plenty of top end restaurants that try to hard and serve you up something that just doesn’t work and is horrible
