Along_the_Wire IndustryStandard I went there in 96 - it was a bit ropey. All the beer in NY was 3% an all - absolute piss
Phil-McRackin IndustryStandard yeah, went over a few times around 2011/2012. Seemed nice where they were, although they were there for Hurricane Sandy, which was a bit hairy.
Smallman1 Millsy Ed, do you have a toasted sandwich without cheese? Moreover, if so, what do you have in it? Don’t eat toasted sandwiches Millsy. Hope that helps!
Millsy Smallman1 it does! I’m just thinking maybe you could try something like broccoli, peanut butter and banana or something? The fact you are missing out on a GREAT BRITISH toastie troubles me.
Smallman1 When I was at boarding school I did used to enjoy a nutella and banana toastie. Not a euphemism.
Old-Dutch Smallman1 When I was at boarding school I did used to enjoy a nutella and banana toastie. Not a euphemism. Not sure anyone could ever interpret that as an euphemism mate. You’re safe
RichM When you start a sentence “when I was at boarding school”. We all know what happens there, so no need to clarify.
Smallman1 Went here last night - https://www.donttelldad.co.uk/ Was fab, the fritto misto, sardines, braised pork, roast lamb and madeleine’s to finish were all superb. Queens Park is full of absolute twats though which of course meant I fitted right in.
Smallman1 Big Jay Rayner also a fan! https://www.theguardian.com/food/2025/feb/16/dont-tell-dad-its-a-class-act-restaurant-review
Wasily Went to Plates a few days ago. https://plates-london.com/ Not the biggest fan of vegetarian food but got a seat at the kitchen counter and had 7 quickly served courses which were really good for about £65. The menu looks typically ‘Michelin’ but they’re a friendly bunch and enjoyed the atmosphere there. Recommended.
