Dan Smallman1 Scotch Egg starter with the pork belly for mains. My other half had the Waldorf salad and the pizza. Great little place.
benson Veal and Pinot Noir in central Oxford for a decent lunch. On the bus home for a snooze. Or a no score draw as I like to call it.
benson benson did not snooze. Powered through till 1. Today’s restaurant will be roast chicken chez benson and a decent bottle of wine.
Along_the_Wire Off to The Trident in Sausalito shortly - not the best restaurant available, but went there on our honeymoon and the missus has put her foot down, the miserable cunt.
Wasily Along_the_Wire Really enjoyed lunch here when I was there a few months ago… https://www.331fish.com
benson Just booked macchialini in south beach. Amazing place. I kind of think it might have been recommended in here or the old bedrock forum.
Along_the_Wire Wasily off to Yosemite this morning - wish I’d seen that before we went to Trident - time has not been kind to that restaurant - it was awful.
RichM Along_the_Wire enjoy. Loved Yosemite when I went years ago. Did a road trip from San Fran to Nappa and then Yosemite. Yosemite was def the highlight.
vinnyt77 RichM Same same. Sonoma was beautiful, but Yosemite was the highlight of my N Cali road trip….
RichM Bringing the thread back on track, good to see a local restaurant to me getting a national newspaper review. Have loved this place since it opened and knew the owners from when they were just a coffee van during Covid. https://www.theguardian.com/food/2025/oct/26/fete-chelmsford-essex-grace-dent-restaurant-review#comment-172912002
Smallman1 This place is meant to be tremenballs, will give it a whirl as soon as I can - https://www.nina.london/ Hold tight for feedback!
Wasily Smallman1 I went there a few weeks ago. Good atmosphere and decent music. The pasta is good but not great. Coravin wines available if that’s your sort of thing. Locanda was my gold standard for Italian in London and I haven’t found anything close to that since it closed. Heard Paper Moon in the OWO is decent though.
