RichM That’s certainly not my cup of tea. £17 for courgette, Parmesan and anchovy! I’m sure it will be very nice though
Smallman1 This place has got Dave’s name written all over it! https://www.theguardian.com/food/2022/jul/31/jay-rayner-restaurant-review-gigi-gao-swansea-a-fabulous-creation
bosstrabs Smallman1 Gan Guo Tu Dou is an excellent dish, very rare to find in UK Chinese restaurants…
Cankles-McJeggings bosstrabs What was that potato? What were the ingredient spices and the black beans or peppers ?
bosstrabs Cankles-McJeggings It’s just chicken stock. Does the Chinese version contain MSG? Probably. But I don’t think the Knorr version does.
Cankles-McJeggings Fuck me we have it here! I’m going to try that dish. Right up my strasse. What would you have with it in particular or just anything?
bosstrabs Cankles-McJeggings It’s just a really great side dish. You could have ribs with it, or actually just anything (including Western dishes) you would have sauteed potatoes with.
bosstrabs That would probably work well. You don’t want anything with a delicate flavour because the Gan Guo Tu Dou would obviously overpower it.
bosstrabs Millsy Can you have another potato dish with it? Asking for a friend Fucks sake Millsy, what’s 2 potato dishes on the same table when you have 10 dishes?
Smallman1 Heading here for brekkie this week - https://thebreakfastclubcafes.com/ Hold tight for feedback!
RichM Smallman1 those places are awful, I would expect much better from you Ed. London has a million better places for breakfast than that. Go to Dishroom for the bacon naan instead
alistair RichM you’re a Chelmsford man Rich. Been to 2MT in Writtle. Not top end but it does great brunches. Off the beaten track and a bit of a hidden treasure. Lovely friendly 6ft blonde waitress to boot.
Smallman1 RichM those places are awful, I would expect much better from you Ed. London has a million better places for breakfast than that. Go to Dishroom for the bacon naan instead They’re not, they just seem to be wind everyone up with their admittedly ingratiating prose. The breakfasts are good.
rhouses RichM We have a “bacon blue cheese kulcha” in the brewery next door to my apartment complex, and as filthy as it sounds, I always order it. Surely Dishoom has a good egg burji?
