SM001 Mostly discover new music on here. I struggle to keep up with just my narrow view of music, let alone discovering new genres - fuck knows how you lot find the time to do way more than me. Retirement will be mint when it comes.
What "Other" music do you listen to/recommend?
Didn’t he go full mullet mode before he lost it. Music & hair together.
Loving Flesh God Apocalypse at the moment.
Listened to a lot of Tool during lockdown. I do try and scour Spotify for film soundtracks and the like. Tbh I really struggle finding anything that really jumps out at me when I’m shopping at Traxsource, maybe it’s an age thing I really hope it isn’t and it’s just a shit phase of house music
This is a stunning piece of music
This could easily have been written for a film
nicksneddon I love Tool! Have all their albums and got to see them live in January.
The Doves. Their back-catalogue is great as are the latest songs from their new album
Been enjoying this stoner rock band called Dead Meadow - discovered them on The Wire. Decent enough to just hit play and let the whole albums play out. Almost like Mars Volta meets the Grateful Dead.
also been on a War on Drugs binge, no filler albums.
The new Tool album is brilliant too.
Otherwise, got Guru’s Jazzmatazz series on repeat. Way ahead of its time.

Listen to loads of music. I have most albums from Prince, Depeche Mode, Talking Heads, Weller, Kraftwerk, Gary Numan, The Cure, Tame Impala, QOTSA, Radiohead, New Order, Bjork, PSB, NIN. Have a big vinyl disco and rare groove collection which is probably my first love.
I quite often find Marc Riley is on 6Music when I’m ferrying the lad about of an evening - well before March anyway - and I’ve rediscovered that love of guitar based indy stuff - the latest ones being Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs etc., Savages , - Idols - sort of punk but not. Not as good as The Ruts obviously.
alistair They are great. I think they fell victim to the musical tribalism which used to abound at school. If you liked the Jam , The Who and Small Faces then Led Zeppelin and PF were way off side - with their greasy long hair, motorbikes and snakebite associations . All a bit Quadrophenia!
Set the controls for the heart of the Sun - it blew me away when I heard it only a couple years ago. Years before it’s time . I only heard it when Gerber nicked it for a remix.
