  • Whatever happened to Chris & James?

Wow…you know him? Small world eh?

I’ve endured loads of his sets at Peach and also Checkpoint Charlie in Reading. Nothing to write home about.

As for Chris and James…. James Bradley is still in the game doing stuff under his own name, but not super active. I had a conversation with him a while back about ‘the good old days’ and he said he doesn’t remember much (haha) and is pretty focused on his kids, while working a full time job. I think he was briefly on the Bedrock Board if I’m not mistaken.

James Wiltshire is still VERY active and does work as a sound designer making synth patches, loops, etc. He also produces as Freemasons and was one half of Phats & Small. In addition he does tonnes of production/audio engineering based spots on the YouTubes. He’s quite knowledgeable and worth checking out if you are into electronic music audio production.

No idea what Chris Day is up to because I don’t know him, but if it’s the right one (which it seems to be), Facebook suggests to me that he works for the Bournemouth council in some shape or form.

Dan Wow…you know him? Small world eh?

Peach was definitely the cheesier side of Graham (that made him quite a bit of money at the time), but again he is one of the few DJs that I know who can go out and play a banging more commercial set and then go somewhere else the exact same night and play the most underground and amazing music you’ve never heard. Few are able to do that.

His dance music knowledge is rarely paralleled. He’s a living legend in my books!

Dan have to agree. Spent the majority of the mid 90s listening to Gold at Peach, Leisure Lounge and Camden Palace. Kiss, one off gigs, he was everywhere in the UK. Problem is his sound never really moved on into the noughties . Nice guy , spoke with him many times after gigs but musically not my thing anymore .

Xhrist Jay you just can’t help yourself can you

interesting interview piece. Had a few messy nights at the Rhumba Club back in the day - several Club 4 Life nights. I know James Bradley vaguely -very nice bloke who loves his golf and fishing these days.

Always liked this C & J job on Chris Rea …

re-read the interview and completely forgot about the luvdup twins. how did they managed to get away with sending in radom replacments. remember it was initially mark and adrian luvdup and they were warming up all over the north. However it was very hit and miss if you actually got them or had they sent colin and neil luvdup

what was that Stress compliation from the mid 90’s? Was excellent and had a bunch of these key records. Also contained a great Brothers In Rhythm remix of Eurythymics Here comes the rain? Also had Daphne Change which is an absolute killer track

      Christian

Sounds like they’d have made an unreal tag team wrestling set up in the wwf.

Luvdup is another 90s blast from the past. Used to play lush and other places over here also.

Christian Don’t remember it - sure a Club Culture from Stress was a bit earlier: Kathy Brown and Reefa! etc.
Stress/DMC had a real real prog purple patch around 96 ish (?)

alistair never heard of that one but has deserts moods and Palladian dawn which are ace

Do any of you bedroom djs want to do a mid 90’s proggy house set for our general delectation?
