Along_the_Wire The ending was 100% ‘leave the door open for a sequel’ and while it was a surprise (everyone thought at least one of them was gonna die), I don’t think it really fit the game.
I think a much better ending would have been Joel letting Ellie go through the surgery to save the world (he just seemed too pragmatic to do anything else) and kill himself out of grief.
But you know, sequel bucks are important too.
