Homegrove So the building is owned by the brewery who essentially lease the pub out to you to run on thier behalf. As well as rent, you must also buy all of your beer from them, which means realisitcally you have no control over prices.
The brewery decides the terms and length of the lease. My friend and her partner took this pub just before the first lockdown on an inital contract. Both experianced publicans, done a great job whlist there - locals pleased, takings up, all good.
A couple of months back the brewery told them that they had other parties intrested in taking the pub over, and requested a busniess plan from them. They planned to slowly build the business up over the next few years, solid plan, whilst not over promising when it came to revenue. Long story short the brewery desided to go with someone else and are kicking them out this week.
