Val D’Isere is a piece of piss! If the direct Snow Train is running, it’s just St Pancras to Bourg-St-Maurice, then a quick transfer up the mountain…

Along_the_Wire 8 ½ hours from St Pancras to Bourg St Maurice. Bout half hour shorter into Moutiers… Transfer from there is about ½ hour. Though as Bens points out, Eurostar aren’t running the Snow Train this year. It’s been chartered to TravelSki for the season, and you have to buy a package through them.

Last year, I did a Eurostar to Paris, then a TGV to Moutiers. Takes ½ hour longer, but a bit more of a ballache, having to transfer in Paris. Would still take that option ahead of flying though.

Last time we flew in and out of Chambery, the trip down the mountain took 7 hours. Fuck that shit.

Ended up at the reboot of The Cross Sat night. Run by the same people as the old club out of a converted pub. Had a great time. Wasn’t packed but was a good crowd in there post Pride, music was decent (Mr Lawrence DJing) and just went bonkers for a few hours post a mates bday party in the west end.

Hope it’s a success. Really nicely done in there, even have one of the old roller cars in there from the club. Very plush. I like the concept if a bar/eatery and club . Plus they have a rooftop bar. Didn’t get in until past 4am and still paying the price today…..

Think if they nail the food in there could be a success. They seem to have a few “heritage” DJ nights coming up, Rocky and Diesel / Farley and Heller etc, but one off nostalgia nights wont keep it going. Getting people in there from 8pm to 3am spending money on food and drinks is a good model . Looks like they spent a few quid renovating it !
