Wally I had an absolute storming good time at Henry Saiz. The weather was really nice and despite threatening to rain at one point held out the whole day.
I went over thinking I was going to get some shit from some scousers at some point with Newcastle knocking them out the CL ( It happened before when I went to see Nick Warren a couple of years back ) but nothing could have been further from the truth. The crowd were bang friendly and all well up for it. Quite an age range from 20s up to veteran clubbers like us. 50/50 on the blokes/lasses ratio. Had a right laugh with loads of people with everyone in a great mood. Will defo go back to 909 events in Liverpool in the future if that’s the crowd.
I met Henry as we checked into the same hotel at the same time - I know he’s been through a few pretentious up his own arse phases with his music but he was sound as fuck in person - I took a selfie and he asked to look, said it had a glare in it so would I like to take another one - ended up taking a fair few with various people I was with jumping in - he had all the time in the world for it. His set time was supposed to be 6-10 and then 10-2 in the after party but he was on at 5 when I walked in so I think he did an extra hour for the fuck of it too and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying himself. He dropped some absolutely monstrous tunes too.
The venue was alright, outdoor sound system was alright - I just stood slightly behind the DJ booth in line with the monitor speaker so it was great there. Indoor was just banging but I was fairly pissed at that point and left about 12:30 ish.
Was like being in Ibiza for a day. Loved it. 😃
