He’s up at the end of the year and will likely command a large contract for someone whose best days are behind them. Might as well come some sort of asset(s) for him. Build around VanVleet and Pascal along with drafting well. Toronto will never be a F/A destination so draft, develop, trade is likely all they can do.
A trade might also be a “let’s do good by Kyle” sort of thing. Get him home on a team that could be a problem for anyone in the playoffs, health permitting. Toronto just isn’t very good.
Lowry would be interesting on the Sixers. He can run an NBA offense and will actually shoot, unlike Simmons. He’s also still a pretty good defender, particularly in the post given his size and strength.
I say do it. Go all in. The window for the NBA chip is really short (ask OKC). I’d guess the Warriors run is an anomaly. Guys just move around too much now.
