this album is so good. he uses tape loops to create ambient textures, check out the video below too, really amazing stuff.

Dubman haha shit, thought i was covering new ground here. i got my first vintage tape deck last week. doesn’t have variable speeds, but it has dual inputs and panning, so i’m starting down this rabbit hole.
303abuser My cousin and I used to make mix tapes back in the mid 80’s on a twin tape deck.. play on one deck & record on the other. Then pause the recording deck. Then play a different tape and record again. Then repeat the process. It did sound rather jerky but it sort of worked.
Dubman yeah i remember doing a bit of that too. i’m going to start with splicing an 8-10 second loop, running two synths in through some reverb and see what comes out. i see some pawn shop tape deck hunting in my future.
