303abuser Dubman haha shit, thought i was covering new ground here. i got my first vintage tape deck last week. doesn’t have variable speeds, but it has dual inputs and panning, so i’m starting down this rabbit hole.
Dubman 303abuser My cousin and I used to make mix tapes back in the mid 80’s on a twin tape deck.. play on one deck & record on the other. Then pause the recording deck. Then play a different tape and record again. Then repeat the process. It did sound rather jerky but it sort of worked.
303abuser Dubman yeah i remember doing a bit of that too. i’m going to start with splicing an 8-10 second loop, running two synths in through some reverb and see what comes out. i see some pawn shop tape deck hunting in my future.
