Never bothered with any of it. Twitter. Facebook. Nothing. Not once did I feel like I was missing out. Most heavy users seemed stressed over it; those who relied on it to keep in touch with people never actually did. Sorry, but looking at a picture and hitting a “like” is not keeping in touch.
I don’t think it’s any coincidence that I’m the only person out of my extended friend group who’s still close with those who moved away.
But I also still send postcards when I go out of town like a weirdo. Not normal, I know. But you know what? People appreciate it.
