jonattonyeah You’re right, it’s shit. Gave the first episode a go - the weak script (especially the quotes for the trailers), constantly breaking the 4th wall in the worst possible way, the hectic editing which is quite overt, the in your face colour tone to make sure we never forget we’re in the 80s, meh. Not for me. @LT42

I’ll watch the Magic doc when it becomes available.

The Invisible Pilot documentary was pretty wild, it’s about the pilot who was running drugs and got caught up with the cia/Iran-contra thing. Definitely worth watching.

HBO Max is doing great at the moment, We Own This City premiered last night, and is apparently great. Based on a nonfiction book about corrupt Baltimore cops, and produced by David Simon and George Pelecanos, who also did The Wire, it also has a bunch of actors from that show. It’s a six part mini series.

You guys are really missing out on HBO Max, easily the best streaming service content-wise. The app is buggy as fuck though, but at least they improved the picture quality from HBO Nordic.

First episode of We Own This City is available for non-us / Homegrove in the usual places. Might try and watch tonight. So hold tight.

Other recommendation is Tokyo Vice. Based on a young US reporter in Tokyo who takes on a crime boss. Ken Watanabe is in it. I’m 3 episodes in.

Bernthal quite menacing in the first episode of We Own This City, great start. A little quicker in pacing compared to The Wire, which isn’t such a bad thing.

First episode of We Own This City was excellent! Really liked it. Will avoid learning the real story, so the turns stay surprises, because the first episode delivered one hell of a twist already.

Started a rewatch of The Shield. Holds up! The acting is excellent and the stories pace along nicely.

jonattonyeah end of the first episode started a trend where you had to have a twist at the end of the pilot episode of any given new show to hook people in. The Shield’s has yet to be bettered.
