ā¦yeah me too, its almost like the poverty and the decrepit, crime/drug-ridden nature of parts of the city attracted this mad cross-section of misfits in, and this explosion of creative energy came out of it.
Reminds me in a weird way of (Londonās) Soho in the late 80ās/early 90āsā¦ itās so clean, gentrified and dull now, you could never imagine anything subversive or original emerging there.
