Started The Sopranos with the pilot episode today. Jesus the tone was different than later. Felt like watching Married to the Mob.

watched all four episodes of “the sister” last night and it wasn’t bad. didn’t try to be too clever, just delivered a bit of decent entertainment.

Homegrove Will definitely watch. Fascinating area that - I used to live near there - when I was a kid you could just walk amongst the stones - they’re fucking massive. The wider area is just mental too - white horses, Aylesbury amongst others. Early man was an idiot.

Finished the 8th series of Spiral, the French crime drama…..The strong characters are (as before) its strength, notably Laure, Gilou and Josephine Karlsson. Its good, I’d recommend it, but I do think they should finish it here - it doesnt feel as fresh as it did in earlier series.

Been a fan from the off. 8 series is some going to be fair. Though the ending provided a fairly natural conclusion so you might be right.

Always been a The Wire guy, but rewatching The Sopranos (again) during lockdown…Gandolfini is just incredible. I can’t think of another actor perfectly suited for their part. Maybe De Niro in Taxi Driver? Denzel in Training Day? I dunno. Gandolfini just nails it.

So happy Fox passed. Those fucking idiots don’t deserve a show that good.

My wife said a funny thing when we discussed it. “I don’t know, I’m having a hard time seeing the gay guy from The Mexican as a gangster.”

All the bad guy roles he’s done from True Romance to 8 MM and she remembers that piece of shit movie. 😃
