Day Of the Jackal (2024)
I loved the Edward Fox movie version of this so had low hopes for this series being able to live up to it. Edmayne does a good Fox though, and shows his schooling running through pretty decent Spanish and German in various scenes. However, I think Lashana Lynch is miscast, possibly on the grounds of her performance in the last Bond, and the MI6 scenes are less than convincing- there’s a source she’s trying to protect who she calls Sparrow but then leaves the meeting blurting out ‘Get me Alison’s daughter’s details’ etc. This is redeemed by some decent actions scenes in parts. Only 5 eps out so far of the 10 but worth a watch.
