vinnyt77 St. Bede’s… had Eastbourne College and Seven Oaks lined up after the Common Entrance exam, but ended up moving back to India. Had loads of friends who went there after Bede’s, used to play them in cricket as well.

An even stranger fact, legendary Led Zeppelin manager, Peter Grant ended up moving to Eastbourne where he had a great reputation and was even offered a role at its council. Passed away and was buried near Eastbourne as well. Was mates with the St Bede’s headmaster and recommended the school to Charlie Watts’ for his son, and Pete Townshend’s relatives.

I grew up in Eastbourne and once worked in a cafe which Peter Grant used to frequent for his fry up (minor klang!). He was a big man! Definitely not as fearsome as he was in his heyday. Considering the millions he must’ve made, he lived in a really modest house near the town centre.

Manski very cool. By all accounts he sobered down completely and was well loved by everyone in Eastbourne. Where did you study? Guessing you must be a bit older than me if you were serving Peter Grant. Only fond memories of the place, probably my happiest as a child.

Yeah, 52…never posted on the Bedrock board but was a frequent visitor…I seem to remember there were other Eastbourne connections on that board. I think Flares lived there iirc…

What years were you there? I lived there from 82-2005

Stranger Things was inspired by IT to the amount that it felt like a rip off, and now Welcome to Derry seems like it desperately wants to be the new Stranger Things. It’s the circle of life.

I guess I keep watching though, if just for Stephen King easter eggs. I think it was even shot in the same place as the short lived, but OK show Castle Rock.

Vince Gilligan’s (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) new show on AppleTv, Pluribus has an “universal acclaim” score of 85 on Metacritic. 100 % fresh on RT. I guess it’s worth checking out. First episode out now.

Did enjoy the first episode of All her fault. It’s pretty soapy but suspenseful and the two female leads are predictably good. Will no doubt be a few twists and turns.
