Her face when she realised what he saying. He just had to go. Not sure how many episodes are in this season as theirs loads of loose ends to tie up.

Raised by Wolves got cancelled. I’m only disappointed because I wanted to know where they were taking it. The production could not keep the momentum of the first season. That one android child going fuĺl on evil dead was fucking cool moment in season two though.

Homegrove I’m ok with that, they clearly had no intention of keeping it going after the first season. Too bad, I though it had a lot of potential.

I thought RBW was good too and had potential . Shame . Looking forward to the new series of For All Mankind . Mars here we come !

Watched a WACO documentary on Sky last few nights.

Quite interesting but seemed to skirt the “why did they go in” question.

Mad government fucks had tanks, choppers and all kinds of shit, seemed well over the top.

Interesting to see Timothy McVeigh in the crowds that were gathering in the early days of siege

Homegrove …camera work, styling, art direction were all so beautifully done in the first series, the first half of which was particularly good. When it was just the two androids raising the kids in isolation there was a purity to it (in combination with the title sequence/music which I LOVE) that was kinda lost in the latter part of S1 as soon as the religious nutters were introduced, and a couple of moments aside, S2 has been a real disappointment.

What is it with sci-fi series that they end up introducing more and more characters until they become soaps about some fucking ramshackle community on a foreign planet?… it’s almost like the writers give up and are desperate to revert to Coronation-Street-on-Mars. Anyone remember Spielberg’s Terra Nova?

The Outlaws series 2 ep 1. Very strong start to what was an excellent first series. A couple of priceless comic moments when Merchant’s character tries to chat up a work colleague (in the lift and club)

Not knowing anything about the story the ending of We Own This City really packed a bunch. If it was not a real story everyone would say it was way over the top.

Homegrove that car/bike chase was amazing. There’s a break down of it on YouTube, the variety channel I think, which is quite interesting. Bill Hader reaching genius levels with this season.

Homegrove started watching that a few days ago and nearly finished the second season. It’s very good, had never heard of it before

Needed to watch some cat videos after the season finale. I really hope he gets into directing movies after season 4. His episodes are the best. Really happy he’s going to direct all of season 4.

      • Matt replied to this.

I don’t care what anyone thinks… zero fucks… I’m really enjoying Everything I Know About Love on the IPlayer … it’s warm, funny and, erm, girly…. Love it 👍

Homegrove just watched the last episode of series 3. Fucking brilliant.

The progression from being quite comical in series 1 to pretty dark in series 3 was really well done. Looking forward to the 4th installment.

          Blocco 181.
New Italian drug gang series set in Milan. No Gomorrah but then what is. Couple of episodes in and liking it so far. Seems to be focusing on a Romeo and Juliet type relationship across the gangs.

Jules72 I mean fair play to you for owning up to this. The trailer for it makes me want to baseball bat my TV. It looks shite.

Hot water bottle for your tummy, Jules?

Sherwood is bloody brilliant. Anyone else watching?

Yep. It’s half decent. All based on a true story I believe.

season 2 of the flight attendant is shit. wish she would just have a drink instead of moaning about it the whole time

Take it Flight Attendant isn’t first class?

                OLB’s in the house!

This new mini series The Offer seems to be getting good reviews, has anyone dove in yet?

Just finished S3 of Westworld. Started off quite well then quickly descended into an unfathomable mess.

mono-stereo the first episode of Season 4 had some terribly clunky exposition dialogue, but man do they do the visuals great. I still like it, but I probably give it a LOT of leeway just because I love how it looks. It turned into a just another scifi-show for a lot of people after they left the park, but I’m ok with it.

Oh, season 4 of True Detective coming, this time with a new showrunner. Issita Lopez writes and directs everything, and she’s cool. And the combo of Jodie Foster and HBO is certainly promising.

Title is officially True Detective: Night Country

“In True Detective: Night Country, from writer/director/showrunner Issa López, when the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the six men that operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.”

LT42 it’s pretty good. Not great. Could have been 4-5 episodes, but I think it’s around 8.

Been watching The Bear. It’s on FX/Hulu. Quite good! Does an excellent job of showing how a kitchen is really ran and the acting is solid. Also quite amusing at times. Just 8 episodes so not a big commitment.

Other than being prone to preachiness, We Own This City is compelling drama and John Bernthal’s performance is magnificent.
A bit like watching The Wire in a parallel universe with many of the same actors on show. Highly recommended

It’s ok. Very patchy and feels badly edited; if you had no prior knowledge of the real story you wouldn’t know what the fuck was going on for the first 2 episodes. Please don’t compare it to The Wire though.

                          SM001

Agreed. Their choice to jump around in time made it pretty confusing. But Bernthal is so great in it. He’s just hilarious. Makes the entire show. And it was nice to see old Wire characters and Baltimore again. Not as great as the OG but I enjoyed it. Will give it another go soon as - like The Wire, Generation Kill, and The Deuce - I suspect it’ll get better when one isn’t so caught up with outcome.

I feel that way about Shutter Island as well. Watched that recently. Not being fussed with the twist at the end makes for a much better watch. It’s a beautiful film.

                          alistair

Yeah he’s excellent as well. There are clips of the real Hersl on YouTube. He looks like a right prick and completely unfit to be a cop.

                          EDIT found one:
