I’ll Be Gone In The Dark has just started, based on the book about the Golden State Killer by Patton Oswalt’s wife. Friend read the book and the stories about this guy are truly horrifying.

Watched the first episode, it was more about McNamara though. I guess they did that on purpose so the rest of the show can focus on the killer.

The guy plead guilty yesterday to avoid death sentence at 74.

Yup, just read that. haha Didn’t want to post any spoilers.

Been catching up on Cardinal on iPlayer. 2 seasons into it, and hooked.

Anyone managed to watch The Bureau S5 in the UK yet?

Ended up marathoning Normal People at the missus’ behest. Totally worth it. Intense romance about a young Irish couple as they get through high school and college (Trinity). Tons and tons of sex scenes, but all tastefully done. You end up rooting for them through all their ups and downs. Does a drag a bit here and there, but otherwise thoroughly enjoyable.

sat down to watch normal people with the wife and i lasted about 10 minutes before i was in the other room.

Christian LOL, my missus came back from some shitty social of hers gushing about Normal People and I was exactly the same, ten minutes in, I was out after a short, but aggressive argument about it. It’s like an Irish version of Dawson’s Creek, but much worse.

The cast are uglier but the food is just as good.

Sinner Season 2 finished, we are going to start Season 3, as contrary to views on here, some people say its pretty good. we’ll see.

Hursty Who are the ‘some people’? You’ll realise these are people you should never have listened to very, very soon!

When is comer going to get in here and call you all a bunch of fuckheads and tell us Ireland is at the forefront of television entertainment?

Also, I don’t remember the most perky beautiful breasts out on display in any of the episodes of Dawson’s Creek. Lovely use of music too.

Christian didn’t bother with season 3 on the basis of what I’ve read on here

I’ve not even bothered watching the last couple of episodes.

I’m genuinely sorry derm isn’t here to read how many of life’s losers are admitting to watching Dawson’s fucking crack.

Been watching Snowfall. 3 episodes in and is decent, with potential to get better.

                Some quality tunes as well

Once upon a time in Iraq. A documentary series on BBC 2 about the Iraq war. Only 2 episodes in but it’s so shocking and disturbing but a must watch.

…no idea if its been mentioned here, but the Keith Haring doc on iPlayer “Keith Haring: Street Art Boy” is one of the best things I’ve seen in ages.

An incredible snapshot of NYC in the late 70’s/early 80’s. what a mad place… squats, street art, punk and the Paradise Garage… loved it to bits, highly recommended.

Cheers for the heads up. Will give that a go as I’m fascinated by that era of NYC. Probably why I loved “The Deuce” even though it’s probably not that great of a show. That city just seemed so crazy but so alive. Manhattan just doesn’t have that energy anymore. Too expensive, I guess.

I watched that a few weeks ago after Lauren Laverne mentioned it on Radio 6. I never heard of him up until I saw the film but certainly recognised his art work.

…yeah me too, its almost like the poverty and the decrepit, crime/drug-ridden nature of parts of the city attracted this mad cross-section of misfits in, and this explosion of creative energy came out of it.

Reminds me in a weird way of (London’s) Soho in the late 80’s/early 90’s… it’s so clean, gentrified and dull now, you could never imagine anything subversive or original emerging there.

Dubman …been into street/urban art for ages, and was certainly aware of him, but never really gave him credit for the impact he had on the wider art world.

He was so prolific, you can actually pick up signed sketches/doodles for relatively modest money… the problem with that kinda stuff is usually provenance.

I’m also into graffiti art and follow lots of artists on Facebook. But to honest I never really liked Haring’s style. I was more into it because of hip-hop in the 80’s. I remember getting a book called Subway art by Henry chalfant & Martha cooper in the mid 80’s which is all about the graffiti scene in New York. Just like breakdancing I was never any good at it. Although I did try.

Pleasantly surprised at how good and enjoyable Picard is even when I barely have any context from the stuff before.

Enjoying the once upon a time in Iraq doc series on BBC. Very illuminating potted history of the country from the war to the present day. Boy, the Americans have got a huge amount to answer for.
