Havoc - 2/10. Not a patch on The Raid/Raid 2 (same director) and actually a bit boring.

Warfare. Thought I’d pop to see this in the cinema before it stops, glad I did - really needs to be seen in the cinema, even if only for the sounds. It’s a horrible watch, ridiculous tense and uncomfortable - I never jump in films, but that tank getting done by the IAD launched me. The end is a massive relief. 7.5/10

The Accountant 2 (2025).

Just really really silly, and so much fun. The plot was way too convoluted, and it was too long for the type of movie it was, but the one scene which didn’t really have anything to do with the rest of the movie, that could have easily been cut to make the movie under two hours was also so fun, that I’d hate to think I didn’t get to see it. Both Afleck and Bernthal were on good form, and the latter especially is just made for parts like this. Just a really good dumb time at the movies. I smiled through out the movie.

Also finally had the screening room all for myself in the theatre. 37 years I’ve been going to the movies, and it finally happened. Late screening on a Tuesday before a big party holiday in Finland is apparently the day to go to be alone in the theatre.

There’s something about The Accountant which just doesn’t add up.

    TAKE MY WIFE!

Out of Sight (1998). Upgraded Soderbergh’s best film to 4K Blu ray. This movie is perfect.

Homegrove big picture were talking about how this was the original plot line for Goodwill Hunting.

rhouses yeah, listened to it. Great observation from Chris Ryan’s friend. 😂

      5 days later

Bottle Rocket (1996). Finished my quest to watch all of Wes Anderson’s films with his debut feature. Luke and Owen Wilson play a pair of loser friends trying to become master criminals. Life happens instead. Anderson’s least Andersony-movie. But you can still tell who’s the director five minutes in. Owen Wilson co-wrote this and he clearly knew that his strength is playing annoying fuck ups early on. ⅗ stars.

Homegrove The Phoenician Scheme looks like the end of the road for Wes Anderson - the trailer is just all too much. I don’t think I can bear to watch it.

        Homegrove Wes Anderson

Done with him after Asteroid City.

Amps even I didn’t like that one. The Roald Dahl-adaptations done for Netflix were really good though, so I’ll probably go see the new one.

I struggle with Wes Anderson these days as well. Can’t bring myself to hit play on asteroid city or any of those shorts on netflix. Have been tempted to rewatch darjeeling and moonrise kingdom.

Not really gonna beat TGBH is he?

Never really liked any Wes Anderson film tbh. Fantastic Mr Fox was ok I suppose.

I liked The Life Aquatic with Steve Zizzou.

              Cheers!

Wally that and Moonrise Kingdom are so fucking good though, that I expect I will be always giving him a chance to disappoint me. But yeah, he topped off at The Grand Budapest Hotel. I liked French Dispatch quite a bit though.
