NasserAlazzawi David Attenborough - A Life on Our Planet

10 / 10 Everyone must see it.

Is this on Netflix Nass?

-si- the ending was changed (he didn’t read the names), but otherwise what was changed they had to tone down the characters, the judge was even crazier IRL, and Bobby Seal and Abbie Hoffman were also even more lively in actuality.

Cracking cast in it too. Great film, love the fact it’s based on a true story and that the judge and defendants were such a mad fucking bunch of people!

    Along_the_Wire

Along_the_Wire thought he did alright with this, he’s doing the first 5 apparently. I suppose we’ll expect to see lots of shots of Ciro just staring and not saying anything for extended scenes. Also wearing sunglasses in the dark.

Chicago 7 was excellent. Sorkin at his absolute best.

Been a bit since I watched this again.

    10/10

Jonathan Demme made one of my most watched and favorite movies ever - “The Silence of the Lambs”, It’s a masterpiece. Close to perfect. But I don’t think it’s his best film.

“Stop Making Sense” is his best film. It’s perfect.

I don’t like or dislike The Talking Heads. I don’t really have an opinion or think about them. I put “SMS” on and I cannot stop watching it until the very, very end. This film could be utterly ridiculous and completely laughable in the wrong hands. But it’s perfect.

For those who haven’t seen it, get some wine or some pot or whatever is your fancy. It’s a great 90 minutes or thereabouts. I doubt anything like it will ever be made again.

[EDIT] I should say it’s just a live The Talking Heads show (filmed over 4 nights in I think Hollywood). It’s not a doc or a movie. Just music, performance, and editing.

I know. He said he’s had discussions about big films before but i didn’t think it would be this that finally persuaded him! Hope they don t reign him in too much

The first one is one of my favorite bad movies of the last decade.

Absolutley love Talking heads. For me they were the best US band from the 80’s. Little creatures is one of my fav albums of all time. David Byrne is a musical genius.

      Starred Up (2013, downloaded)

Dark prison drama starring Jack O’Connell, Ben Mendelsohn, Rupert Friend and Anthony Welsh.

A youth offender gets transferred to adult prison and gets reunited with his dad there.

Great acting and cast. Superb direction by David McKenzie. Recommended.

      7.5/10

      Calm With Horses (2019, downloaded)

Dark, moving Irish crime drama starring Cosmo Jarvis, Barry Keoghan, Anthony Welsh and Niamh Algar.

A gang enforcer tries to punish a sex offender while trying to help his autistic son. Cosmo Jarvis in particular delivers an incredible performance.

This is almost exactly what I imagine Sean C’s life to be like, you can certainly see some of the parallels in Keoghan’s fashion choices. Highly recommended.

      8/10

Bit unfair, cj. I don’t think sean was ever convicted of those accusations and managed to stay off the register.
