Rate The Last Movie you Watched
Out of Sight - don’t know if it was mentioned on here, but a great film - stellar cast and had no idea how it was gonna play out. I guess you’d call it a rom com, but it’s a good one. 8/10
Along_the_Wire yeah I rewatched it recently, and posted about it here. Career best for Soderbergh (which is a high bar) and Lopez (which is not).
Dazed and Confused (1993). First time watching. A high school-movie by Richard Linklater without a plot that’s considered a classic. And I can understand why. Matthew McConaghey, Ben Afleck and Parker Posey all star in this before anyone knew who they were. Alright alright alright indeed.
Homegrove A great shout, H
Yeah, proper comfort movie is dazed and confused.
The Phoenician Scheme (2025). First Wes Anderson I’ve ever seen in a movie theatre (matinee, so a ticket was cheap) and the fucker put the whole movie in a boxed aspect ratio. Didn’t hate it, but not great. Bill Murray plays THE God so that’s good, and Michael Cera belongs in every Wes Anderson-film, yet this was his first. Catch this when it is streaming for the actors (Del Toro is fantastic in it too), the rest is quite… Eh?
Dirty Harry is a really, really shit film. It’s basically an episode of an awful 70s cop drama. ⅒
Along_the_Wire The Enforcer is the money sequel if I remember correctly. Peak 70s politically incorrect film.
Do you know what film I did like recently? My Old Ass (2024)
This is one for the emo kids (Rhouses) and not one for the cold ass Mofos (Millsy). It’s about some teenagers coming of age in Canada and it’s lovely. Aww x
Just watched the trailer, suspect I’ll never watch it.
Cheers!
Thanks Ed.
I watched The Terminator for the first time in probably 30 years last night. Linda Hamilton is such an awful actress, she nearly ruins it - the fucking constant screaming and all? Still, it was actually better than I remember it and looked terrific in 4K. 9/10
Along_the_Wire looked terrific in 4K.
It’s been AI resharpened and you can see it(I saw the new remaster in the theatre last year), but I’ve been thinking about buying it on disc anyway for the OG mono audiotrack. The otherwise terrific 2012 Blu ray I have has the revisionist 5.1 track made for the first DVD release which replaces gun sounds etc. Real cool stuff to care about, not nerdy at all.
